|Do you ship to my country?|
|We send our plants to all countries that are member states of the European Union. To order online, please create an account by clicking the "My Account / Order Status" link at the top right hand side of our site. During sign-up we'll ask for your shipping address details including country. If your country does not appear in the drop-down menu of available countries, please contact us.|
|What are my payment choices?|
|During the checkout process you may choose any of our current payment options and continue to place your order. Please note that we will not ship your order until we receive payment from you.|
We normally aim to dispatch orders within one week of them being placed, but during busy times this may take longer. Our main peak periods are between late February and early May and again leading up to Christmas when dispatch may take up to 21 working days. We give an indication of current dispatch times on both the Checkout page and also on the order confirmation email. If you require your order to be delivered by a certain date, e.g. for an anniversary or a birthday, please make sure you add this to the comments section of the checkout page and we will do our best to make sure that you receive the order in good time.
How will I know when my order will arrive?
We will email you on the day that we dispatch your order and it should then arrive on the next working day in most parts of the UK. Deliveries to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and the more remote parts of Scotland usually take 2 days.
How do you send your plants?
We pack the plants securely into specially designed cardboard boxes which are delivered by courier. Each plant has its pot individually wrapped in a plastic bag to retain both soil and moisture, and is then secured into the box so that it cannot move around, even if the package is mishandled in transit. We take great care pride in the way in which we dispatch our plants, and customers often comment on how well they were packed on receipt. Large orders may have to be sent on a pallet, or by delivery van, rather than courier. Small, lightweight items, such as a book or fertiliser, may be sent by 2nd Class Post as a cheaper alternative to courier.
What will happen if I am not in when the delivery is made?
If you have told us of a safe location to leave the parcel, then we will have passed this information to the couriers and they should leave it as instructed. If you haven't told us where to leave the parcel, then the couriers will first try a neighbour and if that's not possible they should then leave you a card and attempt delivery again on the next working day.
How much does delivery cost?
The delivery charge is calculated automatically based on the weight of your order. Simply add items to your cart and proceed to the Checkout page - once the delivery address has been entered, the cost will be calculated. For delivery to the UK and Channel Islands the charges are shown in the table below (including VAT, except for the Channel Islands):
Lightweight parcels (e.g. single books) are sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class (no tracking available). All other deliveries are routinely sent by courier (DHL Parcels) using a tracked, next-day delivery service.
Deliveries to Scotland
For deliveries to addresses in Scotland, please check the delivery postcode below and select either 'Scotland', 'Scottish Highlands' or 'Scottish Islands' at the checkout as appropriate.
Do you deliver outside of the UK?
We can send plants up to 10 litre pot size to any country within the European Union using DHL or UPS.
In most cases the website will calculate and add a delivery charge automatically. Please note that this is only an estimate. Some areas are classified by couriers as being 'remote' and they therefore impose a surcharge which we will need to add to the shipping cost. If you wish to check whether this applies to your address you can do so for DHL here and for UPS here.
Once we receive your order we will calculate the shipping cost and notify you of the exact charge - in some cases we may be able to make a refund. Alternatively, please email us before ordering so we can quote an accurate delivery cost.
Regrettably we are unable to send plants outside of the EU due to import restrictions and the high costs of plant health certification.
