Camellia japonica Elegans Splendor
Camellia japonica Elegans Splendor

Developed by Nuccio's Nursery in California, Elegans Splendor was derived as a sport of 'C.M.Wilson' which in turn originated as a sport of 'Elegans'.
One of the family of varieties that derive from Camellia japonica 'Elegans'. Elegans Splendor has soft pink anemone-form flowers that have deeply serrated petals with a silvery edge. The centre of the flower, which is usually quite loosely arranged, has deeper shades of pink. The plant habit is very similar to 'Elegans', being quite low-growing and spreading as a young plant, but becoming more upright with age. Later flowering than 'Elegans' in March and April.
