Description

'Leonard Messel' is a hybrid of Magnolia stellata, and its flowers have the same narrow, strap-shaped tepals as the parent. Pale lilac-pink in colour, they are abundantly produced from darker pink buds in late March and April, before the leaves appear. Good, yellow autumn colour. Will eventually grow into a tall shrub or small tree, up to about 8m. (If you have visited our nursery during April, you will have certainly noticed the fine specimen of 'Leonard Messel' which we have growing at the entrance to our car park - it has occasionally had a branch taken off by a lorry, but with no ill effect!)).

Available in a 3 litre pot, height approx 90cm
