Camellia japonica 'San Dimas'

Camellia japonica 'San Dimas'

Colour: Red
Form: Semi-double
Hardiness: Hardy
Season: Spring
Period: Early - Mid

A rich, dark red, medium to large semi-double with a mass of yellow stamens. Compact, bushy habit. Early to mid season flowering.

Always eye-catching due to the striking contrast between the bright yellow stamens and the dark red petals, set against very dark green, glossy leaves. 'San Dimas' was a chance japonica seedling originally grown by Clark Thomas of San Dimas, California (just to the east of Los Angeles) which first flowered in 1966.
