Camellia williamsii hybrid Debbie
Camellia williamsii hybrid Debbie

Alternative Views:

A very popular variety, and deservedly so. Typical of the williamsii hybrids in being very floriferous and reliable. The pink, paeony-form flowers are produced over a long flowering period between February and May. Mid-green leaves. Upright habit and a very vigorous growth rate that lends itself well to growing as a hedge.

5 of 5 Debbie turned me into a Camelliaphile May 8, 2022
Reviewer: Mrs. B. from West Midlands
I bought my 'Debbie' from Trehane about 30 years ago. I became like a kid in a sweet shop every time I saw another variety in local garden centres and had to stop buying when I ran out of space. The reasons Debbie's my favourite. (1) longest flowering period:often 5 months, (2) the flowers drop before they look bad so the bush is not tainted by brown, leaving a carpet mostly covered in pink blooms.(3) VERY floriferous....sometimes hard to see the green for pink blooms. (4) both full paeony and anemone (cup and saucer) flowers. (5) lovely effect when 2 terminal buds happen on 1 twig causing a back to back complete ball : simply gorgeous.
(6) Upright bushy habit. very well deserved AGM award.

Lovely, healthy plant. I'm just sorry I don't have a large enough garden to have a hedge of these!

5 of 5 Super Shrub March 5, 2016
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Biggleswade, BE England
I needed to replace my beautiful Peony style Camelia 'Debbie' and Trehearne supplied a splendid 2L specimen in bud and ready to flower within a few days of ordering.  The plant was well packed and wrapped protectively and arrived in excellent condition.  Highly recommended.
