Camellia japonica Brushfield's Yellow
Camellia japonica Brushfield's Yellow

Originated in Australia in 1970, 'Brushfield's Yellow' is very similar to the williamsii hybrid 'Jury's Yellow'. Neither have true yellow flowers as the names suggest, as the petals are actually white, and the creamy-yellow colour is derived only from the central petaloids (modified stamens).
Medium sized, anemone form flowers, with white petals surrounding a centre of tightly ruffled, pale primrose-yellow petaloids. Moderately vigorous, with a compact, bushy and rather columnar growth habit. Flowers March to April.

Bred by Keith Brushfield in Australia, the flowers, leaves and growth habit of 'Brushfield's Yellow' are virtually indistinguishable from those of Camellia x williamsii 'Jury's Yellow'. Both are often referred to as being yellow-flowered camellias, but in fact the true, outer petals are white, and it is only the centre of the flower which has any yellow colouration.

5 of 5 Camellia order. April 29, 2016
Reviewer: June from Oxfordshire, OX England
A beautifully grown plant. Lovely shape and glossy leaves - in flower as well.
It was very well packed and the delivery, though stated on the site that it might take up to three weeks, took just three days.
The site is easy to use, well laid out, well illustrated and carries a great deal of  information on the plants the nursery supplies.
The pricing of plants  is  exceptionally good and
far  better than most  other companies that I checked out.
I am very fussy about the quality of the plants I buy and as far as I am concerned the nursery cannot be beaten on quality, pricing and service.

The plants were very securely packaged - the plant was not damaged in any way. It's a very healthy plant, excellent colour in the leaves & flowers. I'm very  satisfied with the plants I received from Trehane Nursery.  Will definitely recommend them.
